Well first off I must say sorry for not writing anything for a while, university has been hectic and work seems to be due every hour of every day. Also to make things more complicated a lot of web work has come through, which I welcome with open arms.
I have a few plans that I would like to implement within the next few months, these include a web directory and new blog for SketchTHAT as well as a few other interesting things. So be sure to keep your eyes on this site as things are going to start changing.
Peace Out

Well its been a long time in the making but its just finished.
The site MyBargain.com.au was launched a few weeks ago. It is a great example of a Web 2.0 application. It uses nothing but clean urls and uses a lot of Ajax (More to come as the site gets bigger)
Keep your eyes on this one, its a great idea and will help you save money (If you live in Victoria).
Peace Out

You may have noticed the small change that took place a little while ago.. Did you notice it? My guess is you didn’t.
I changed the URLs of the main pages on my site.
I now my pages sorted into virtual directories. So instead of contact.html the page is now http://www.sketchthat.com/contact
Why did I do this you might ask? Well its pretty simple, I was doing some reading on the Web 2.0 and I noticed that a lot of site are starting to do this and I thought the best way to learn it is to try it.
I also did the same on the MyBargain.com.au site, go take a look its got really nice URL’s, instead of the messy PHP ones with all the question marks and variable names.
Anyway that’s it for now I must be off lots of work to get done.
Peace!

For the past few days I have been touching up on my Java skills. I figured I haven’t really done any Java programming for a few months and its a great language and I don’t want to forget how to use it, so what did I do?
I built a little time management program. This is something I feel that I have needed for a long time because I always spend too long doing something.
This program I built will stop these issues from happening again.
I open the program and I press start, it will begin to log the amount of time I have spent working on the current issue. I can write a little information about the issue then I can press stop and process. The program will spit out a little text file which I can upload to my site and let my clients see exactly what I have been doing with my time.
Some screen shots of the program can be found below (Please click them to see a larger view)
You can also view a sample text file at here and a sample client view here.
I would be interested to hear what people think and if you would like a copy of the program please email me. (My address can be found on the contact page.

So you will notice that not a lot has been happening in the world of SketchTHAT. You may ask why, then again you may not. Truth is I started my final semester at Deakin University several weeks ago and it has been very ‘full-on’.
Work has been due several times a week and I have been struggling to keep up.. Due to this fact I have been doing very little web work because I literally have NO TIME.
Anyway, stay tuned I want to get some work done soon but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Google API & MSN API. That’s what I played around with today on SketchTHAT. API stands for Application Program Interface, in other words its a way of using the Google or MSN search engine in your code.
I have built a little search engine for SketchTHAT which will let you search the site using the Google or MSN data. It’s a nice little script, although its still got a few little bugs (Mainly the MSN part of it). To have a look at it visit SketchTHAT.com/search. If you can’t think of anything to search try this link to see a sample search.

So what is happening at SketchTHAT right now?
Well I’m glad you asked. Right now I have a few things to do, I’m still working on my NG Directory script I’m trying to add an RSS feed to the page but right now I don’t know the correct way to write it so its taking a little bit of time.
What else? Lets see, I’m going to change the image validation on the contact page of SketchTHAT because I want to make it a little more colourful so it looks better and also causes things (robots and programs) more problems in working out the correct letters in the image.
Also just to top things off I have been working on trying to get SketchTHAT a higher page rank. Right now I’m not sure if I’m going about it the right way. I guess I will have to wait until the next page rank update until I can see if I have done it the correct way.
Well thats it for now.

During exams its hard to study non stop, so during my breaks and in the evenings I have been trying to relax so I have been playing a lot of my Xbox (Currently playing Need 4 Speed underground) and I have also started work on my Directory.
I have built a few little gizmo’s that will be included in the site, some of which can be found here.
Have a little play around with it. Right now it only talks to Yahoo, I want it to talk with Google but I need to learn SOAP for that so I guess it will have to wait a few weeks. I have been looking around to see if MSN supports these things and from what I have seen unfortunately they don’t but I may stand to be corrected.
Well I must be off, I have more study to do. My last exam is tomorrow… Wish me luck!!

Well, as of today I’m not going to be online all that much.
I have exams in two weeks and I want to go well in them so I thought I should give the internet away for a while and start to study.
I don’t really have much news as I have been busy with assignments and all of that.
Hope all is well!

I’m not sure if anyone has noticed but my site score ranking keeps on going down. I haven’t touched the site in a few weeks and I have dropped from 8.3 to 8.2, 8.1 and now I’m at an 8.0.
Silly counter, I think it has something to do with the marketing of the site, so if I put in key words like the in top of this post the counter may go up again.
Lets just wait and see what happens now, will it go up or down?
